Why it is laid out this way

  • Customer-facing work is judged on people skills, so the profile leads with the kind of customers and pace you cope with.
  • Bullets use volumes (covers, queries, transactions) because they are easy to check and easy to compare.
  • Skills include systems, rosters and cash handling alongside people skills, since that is what separates applicants.
  • A short 'Availability' line is useful here and uncommon on other CVs.

Making it yours

  • Include shifts and availability only if you are happy to be rostered that way.
  • Add language skills near the top if they are relevant, for example te reo Māori, Samoan or Mandarin.
  • One page is fine if you are early in your career. Do not stretch it.

Paste into Word or Google Docs, use one column and a plain font (Calibri or Arial), and save as PDF unless the ad asks for Word. Full advice in the NZ CV guide.
